In August of 2000 The World Association of Private Investigators was incorporated and officialy opened for active membership from 2001.
Saturday 19th November marks the 10 year anniversary of the association being opened for membership and will be celebrated with a banquet at the De Vere Davenport House, King William Walk in London. Insight are proud to be members of WAPI and our Director Tony Smith is Vice Chairman of the association.
In the ten years since WAPI were established it has been a very mixed time in the private investigator industry, from the initial plans to regulate the industry, to more recent times where the spotlight has been thrust on our sector due to the phone hacking scandal which has once again seen calls for the industry to be regulated. Who knows what the next ten years will bring!
The event is sure to be a productive and enjoyable one with a morning session hosted by counter-fraud investigation specialist Neil Smith, a former police officer in a major UK police force. Neil will be discussing and sharing his experiences of different types of investigations he has undertaken and passing on his knowledge that has seen him teach hundreds of investigators across Europe in fraud detection and investigative methods.
In the afternoon the main topic of discussion will indeed be the phone hacking, tracking and blagging legal responsibilities of private investigators and the UK law on such matters.
The fun begins in the evening with the official banquet and champagne reception, followed by a magic show from globally acclaimed magician Paul Martin and live entertainment into the early hours.
